Tachographs play a crucial role in vehicle monitoring systems as they are subject to numerous legal regulations, often with regional specifics. It is essential to adapt solutions to legislative changes to ensure compliance and safety. To address this need, Wialon has developed two specialized applications—Tacho Manager and Tacho View—which allow integrators to manage tachograph data within a unified system.

Tacho Manager: Storage and Upload of Tachograph Files

The Tacho Manager application is designed for manual uploading and storage of DDD files (digital tachograph data) within the Wialon system. This solution streamlines the registration and processing of files, providing users with an intuitive interface for file management.

The image shows the full interface of the Tacho Manager application, including access to file upload functions, data viewing, and management panels. The simplified interface helps users quickly navigate the features.

Key features of the application:

  • Manual uploading of DDD files from a computer using the “Upload File” button.
  • Automatic file assignment to the corresponding driver based on the driver’s card identification code.
  • Option to create a new driver or select from a list if no match is found.
  • File viewing and copying through the Disketta program.
  • User-friendly interface for quick and easy file access.

The application enhances data processing efficiency and minimizes dispatcher workload related to file registration.

This image shows the file selection and upload window. The user needs to click the “Upload File” button and select the required file from the computer. The system verifies identification data and automatically assigns the file to the driver.

Tacho View: Driver Activity Analysis

Tacho View is designed in accordance with international EU standards on vehicle crew operations. The program offers advanced features for analyzing driver activity data from tachograph files.

In Tacho View, driver activity is displayed as a timeline. The chart highlights different periods: work, driving, standby, and rest, allowing users to perform visual analysis over a selected time interval.

Main features of Tacho View:

  • Timeline-based display of driver activity for visual analysis.
  • Color-coded periods for driving, work, standby, and rest.
  • Calendar for quick access to specific days within the selected interval.
  • Two types of data representation:
    • “Driver Activity” – a table with detailed daily activity breakdown.
    • “Activity Chart” – visual charts displaying driver activity by day.
  • Option to print detailed reports directly from the application.
This image demonstrates a driver activity chart. The diagram uses different colors and bar heights to indicate various activity types, making it easier to assess compliance with work and rest regulations.

These features allow transport company operators to effectively monitor driver compliance with safety and work/rest standards across more than 70 countries covered by the Wialon system.

The application provides detailed views of driver activity for specific days. The calendar on the right allows for quick date selection, simplifying the analysis of date-specific information and events.

Key Benefits of the Solutions:

  1. Compliance with international and domestic transport regulations.
  2. Automation of tachograph data monitoring and analysis processes.
  3. Ease of file and report management.
  4. Fast access to detailed driver information.

With Tacho Manager and Tacho View, integrators have powerful tools to manage tachograph data, making it significantly easier to monitor driver activity and ensure compliance with safety standards.
